While MCF has supported a range of projects and programs over the years (which you can see in the "Other Projects" section of this website), we regularly support four programs that form the core of our work and are close to the hearts of Milton residents: the Gladys Wilkins Agriculture Scholarships program, the H. O. Brittingham Scholarship program, the Noble Prettyman Cap and Gown Fund, and the annual summer Concerts in the Park program.
Named in memory of a beloved community member, the Gladys Wilkins “Seeding the Future” scholarship is awarded annually to students majoring in agriculture-related fields.
Named in memory of Herbert Oscar Brittingham, who worked for the Milton School District for 36 years and for whom one of Milton's two elementary schools is also named, the H. O. Brittingham Scholarship Fund supports students planning to become educators and other helping professions.
MCF established this fund to honor lifelong Milton resident and longtime Cape Henlopen School District school board member Noble Prettyman to pay for the cap and gown rental fees for graduating Cape Henlopen High School students in need. To date, the Prettyman fund has donated more than $18,000 so that every graduating Cape student can participate in their high school commencement ceremony.
Every Wednesday night throughout the summer, Milton residents and guests gather around the Charlie Fleetwood Gazebo in Milton's Memorial Park to enjoy live music concerts. It's a beloved tradition that MCF is honored to support.
